The Different Types Of Valuations We Offer:
As an Accredited Jewellery Professionals (AJP), trained and qualified by GIA (GG), we offer a valuation and jewellery buying service. So if you have any unwanted jewellery you want to sell, or would like your jewellery valued, we have lots of different services to support you.

Valuation For Insurance
With all purchases from Sheard Fine Jewellery you will receive a legally binding Valuation certificate for the Retail Replacement Insurance value of your jewellery, which you can use for your own insurance. This certificate will detail all specifications of the item/items along with a current retail replacement value.
If the item is bought from Sheard Fine Jewellery then please expect the valuation to be higher than that paid for the item as we offer substantial savings on high street prices. But it is important that your jewellery is insured at the higher retail price in the event that you would like to replace it at a high street jewellers instead of through ourselves.
We also offer a valuation for insurance service. Please contact us for a quote for this service as the Valuation will be based on the number of items you would like valued and their complexity. It is recommended by Insurance companies that jewellery is valued every 2-4 years, due to alloy and gemstone price changes, to ensure you are appropriately insured. We can also check the security and safety of each jewellery item’s settings if your insurer requires this.
Valuation For Probate
A probate valuation is required upon the death of a person and needed for conclusion of someone’s estate. Like all aspects such as houses and cars, a person’s jewellery must be valued. This value is significantly lower than a Valuation for Insurance as the price is calculated and based on what the item could be sold for second hand based on its raw materials and saleability, in most cases to a member of the jewellery trade such as a dealer or a shop. As such the price is lower as, unlike with insurance valuations, the manufacturers costs, retailers mark up and VAT are not included in the estimate value.
